In most MBE systems, the wafer then continues on into the growth chamber.
However, we are investigating the possibility of growing non-uniform, "self-assembled" atomic layers. Our wafer thus stops at a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) writing station we have built under the right end of this chamber.
