So finally we have an overview of both of the Fab processing lines. (Note, in reality, the equipment enclosures are not quite as uniform as we have depicted!)
In a classic mass production process, equipment would be positioned in a line from the first step to the last step. However, in IC manufacture, the wafers cycle through a given process step many times. As a result, the equipment layout is not so straight forward.
