The motion of the belt then carries these transferred electrons up to the top pulley.

This pulley is made up of a different material that will not transfer electrons to the belt.

As electrons are steadily removed from the bottom pulley, it becomes more and more positive (as indicated by its red glow).

And the inner surface of the rubber belt becomes more and more negative (as shown by its strengthening blue glow).
